Creative Problem Solving…

So the following CPS tools will help me in the exam:

– analogies/metaphors; for surfacing wider/alternative views with new possible solutions.

– CATWOE; again for creating a wider appreciation of stakeholders, the ‘process’ at the heart if the issue, other business functions….

– kiplings 5 W & H – for answering those unknowns and providing a next step.

– mind map/rich pictures; for sense making and a way to impart a lot of information without having to write loads of descriptive text. Save the handwriting for answering the question!

– stakeholder analysis tools; matrices for describing the context, power/influence and interest points of view and how they might be approached. And also for surfacing issues across different business functions ie. an analysis of stakeholders for a marketing question may surface the need to cooperate with finance and operations in order to meet budgeting and product life cycle needs.

These are the ‘sense making’ frameworks that will hopefully provide the canvas for me to paint specific module theories in itder to answer the questions.
